Script I Wrote to Introduce YouTube Memberships to My Channel's Audience (April 27, 2021)

Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the YouTube channel. I hope you're all having a terrific day. Today's video is a little bit different than what you're probably used to seeing here, as of late. I haven't done voiceovers like this in a long time. But that's because the focus of this video is very important in regards to the development of our channel. But before I get into that, as I'm sure there will be some curious folks in the comments, the background footage used in this video was recorded on June 27th, 2019. And the island featured is actually one of my own creations. The code for it is 9883-3804-8364. But in case you missed that, I will display it on the screen now.

Anyway, as I said, today's video is about something more than Fortnite clips. I'm here to talk to you about memberships: YouTube memberships, specifically. I'm thrilled to announce, after months of working toward our goals for this channel, we've been selected as eligible for memberships. This means that once I make this video public, our channel should have a blue "JOIN" button that looks like this next to the red, subscribe box. Now, while many of you might already know what this means. For those who don't, that's why I'm here to elaborate. Memberships are a monetization feature granted to select YouTube partners that provide special perks, badges, and emojis (here's a first look at ours) to supporting members of their community.

Now, if you do happen to become a member of the channel, first of all, thank you in advance. And secondly, you might not know exactly where to look to receive access to your exclusive privileges. So I'm here to explain that for you as well. Start by navigating to the description of this video and clicking the link to join our community Discord server, which I will show on screen now. Next, add me as a friend on Discord. My username is also in the description. But if you're feeling too lazy to check (which I get), I will flash that on screen here too. From there you'll receive your specific member role in the server, depending on your level of membership. And finally, if you can't afford to become a member (or you simply don't want to become one), don't stress. Your experience here won't change a bit. Memberships are merely a means by which I can offer MORE benefits to loyal supporters going the extra mile. However, the addition of rewards for channel members does NOT mean traditional subscribers will be losing perks or receiving any LESS attention. Think of it as a bonus for members, NOT a drawback for subscribers.
