Message I Sent to NVIDIA Technical Support Regarding Incompatible Displays (9th of December, 2019)
I recently purchased a secondary monitor (Acer SA230 60Hz 4ms FHD LCD Monitor) to use while streaming and pair with my primary monitor (Acer XF250Q 240Hz 1ms FHD LCD Gaming Monitor with G-Sync) I use to game. My GPU is an NVIDIA RTX 2070. I only encountered minor trouble setting up the monitor using the Windows 10 display settings to identify and "extend" my displays, after plugging both of the monitors into the back of my GPU. However, when I play a game like Fortnite (the main game I play on pc) in borderless/windowed fullscreen mode with my second monitor turned on, I notice severe latency/stutters. Once I power the second monitor off, the issues immediately disappear. I am looking for a fix for this, as I do not want to waste $100 on a monitor I effectively cannot use. And I also do not want to have to spend another $250-$300 on a 240 Hz just to match the refresh rate of my original monitor (unless that is the ONLY feasible method to resolve the issue). I have already made sure my GPU drivers are up to date. Furthermore I have employed some troubleshooting tips, which involve adjusting settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel, suggested in the forums on NVIDIA's website. So far nothing has worked, and I do not expect Microsoft or Acer to offer much help when it comes to this dilemma regarding my multi-monitor setup. Is there anything your support team can do to help me reach a solution to this problem?
