Addressing Every Relevant Argument Regarding Keyboard and Mouse vs. Controller

To anyone that ever claimed aim assist is balanced in Fortnite,

First and foremost, I would like to introduce myself to provide some context in regards to this longstanding controversy. I go by the pseudonym of UntoldMight and I started playing Fortnite: Battle Royale in October of 2017, shortly after the game's launch. And before that I mostly played Call of Duty games like Black Ops III. I began playing on the original Xbox One with a standard Xbox controller and using the original standard controls. I eventually switched to combat pro controls shortly before the introduction of builder pro. Also, in November of 2018 I switched to an Xbox One Elite Series One controller. After some time I switched to the builder pro configuration. Likewise, I switched to custom binds when they were introduced, changing my edit button to the left joystick. In May of 2019 I finally bought a desktop computer and played with a controller on pc with 240 FPS. After nearly 4.5 months of that, I finally got my hands on a mouse and keyboard and decided to try it in October of 2019. I played on a membrane keyboard for two weeks before my edit key essentially stopped functioning and I purchased a mechanical one. Flash forward to today, 03/18/2020 (5+ months later), after a few minor adjustments in terms of keybinds along the way, and I am still exclusively using keyboard and mouse as my input in Fortnite. With that said, I've learned a lot along my journey. A vast history of experiences have shaped my perspective, especially in relation to the age-old aim assist debate. Anyway, I felt the need to share my opinion with the Fortnite community in an attempt to shed some light on the situation, particularly since I regularly encounter questions/comments about it when I live stream. In this post I intend to explain my answers to the aforementioned questions/comments/criticisms that are commonly presented to me and that I noticed are frequently debated by numerous professionals, content creators, casual players, etc. on social media platforms like Twitter.
