Experience/Practice > Reading/Research

You actively choose to bury your face in a book every day and read about the psychology of parenting, rather than actually parenting your only child. If you spent just 10% of the time you do reading literature like that attempting to be emotionally and socially available for your son (or even trying to implement the parenting strategies you learned), we would almost certainly have a healthy and functional relationship (instead of whatever unpleasant and unproductive disgrace this has been for more than a decade).
