The Golden Age Is Gone
Without a multitude of (rigidly enforced) rule changes, I fear that the golden era of NBA entertainment has already passed forever. I used to enjoy watching NBA games (during the regular season and during the playoffs) on live television from approximately 2007-2008 to roughly 2016-2017. Now I struggle to derive any sort of enjoyment from watching. Every game, irrespective of the players/teams/location/time, seems to feature an excess of three-point shooting, traveling, carrying, jogging/walking, foul-baiting/flopping, free throws, complaining to referees, subpar defense, halfhearted effort, gambling promotions, commercial interruptions, intentional losses (a.k.a. tanking), etc.
