Brain Rot (Unnecessarily Dumbing Down TV for Children)

The relative complexity of characters written for televised series like Total Drama Island (2008) reminds me that the bland, one-dimensional, and predictable characters developed for children's programming today pale in comparison to those of the 1990s and 2000s.

I wish more of the current era's writers, directors, and producers of programs airing on networks that target children would dare to deviate from the uninspiring, formulaic, and harmful trend of shallow characters and storylines seen in modern-day television and movies.

Unfortunately, until or unless this bubble bursts, I anticipate that this trend will continue to progress endlessly and exponentially. Because, as much as it pains me to admit, corporations and their leaders prioritize profit margins for themselves and their shareholders over conceptual quality and intellectual stimulation.
