10th of September, 2025
Although many of my opinions do not align with those of Charlie Kirk, anyone with a proper conscience (regardless of their political or religious beliefs) should agree that absolutely no one deserves what happened to him in September of this year. Furthermore, I'd argue that no one who is assassinated should be extensively ridiculed online. Exhibit some humanity, give his family/friends time to grieve, and allow the man to rest in peace.
It feels dystopian that today's society is so desensitized to violence and lacking empathy for perceived enemies that many people are quick to make a mockery of the recently deceased. We should express respect and sympathy for Charlie Kirk the same way almost the entire civilized world did for public figures like Steve Irwin, Robin Williams, and Chadwick Boseman.
Despite our undeniable difference in plenty of core principles, I am sorry about what happened to him. And you should be too. Whether you think he should be hailed as a martyr or condemned as a monster, he was an activist who was needlessly and prematurely executed. At the end of the day, we are all sentient beings governed by our own inevitable mortality.
