Taking Initiative
While I am quite capable of assuming the lead, I prefer not to be the initiator of every interaction between us. If I'm compelled to bear the responsibility of taking the initiative in every circumstance, the outcomes I foresee (in regard to our relationship) are strictly detrimental. Speaking from personal experience, nothing but anguish accompanies these outcomes (three of which I will describe below).
1. I will feel like an irritating burden to you.
2. You will think I am a clingy friend.
3. I will intentionally become apathetic, to avoid accepting the sad reality (which is a distinct absence of sincere reciprocation of interest or care).
