Sorry (But Not Really)

You just told me "I'm sorry that I hurt you." Then, after I justifiably criticized you for lying in your apology, you proudly stated "I don't regret doing what I did, even though I ultimately hurt you in the process." And you still don't comprehend why the simultaneous existence of those two contradictory statements creates an absurd paradox.

Delivering an apology to someone that contains non-negotiable conditions which absolve you of fault and/or control does not constitute an authentic apology. That's just fake; it means you aren't really "sorry."
