Addiction to Scrolling

I am sick and tired of the ever-growing inundation of addictive media across every part of the Internet. Individual creators, small businesses, and global corporations alike have spread this destructive disease to all corners of social media, in the greedy pursuit of financial gain and online recognition. Every mainstream socially-focused application has introduced an element of endless scrolling. This phenomenon, along with the excessive placement of advertisements, has established a culture that prioritizes the mindless consumption of entertainment and neglects the dangerous erosion of attention span. With an infinite supply of easily accessible content and the ability to effortlessly skip over subjects deemed uninteresting, we are observing a drastic increase in average screen time as users are more routinely absorbed by short-form videos for hours on end.
