Fool's Gold

I have been periodically checking my iPhone for calls/messages from her out of force of habit.

Yet, there are none.

Each time I hear/see a notification appear on my iPhone, I foolishly hope it's from her.

Yet, they never are.

A small part of my mind is still under the delusion that this whole incident is merely an elaborate, practical joke organized for April Fools' Day.

Yet, is it not.

I am heartbroken.
