Tears of Joy
Hey, you.
Yes, you.
I'm not typing your name.
Because, for your sake, I want to protect your identity.
But you know who you are.
And I know you're reading this, which is all that matters.
Before you read my message to you, the answer is yes.
I have already told you this.
But humor me anyway, please.
Read it again, for me and for you.
And this time close your eyes.
Imagine me standing right in front of you.
Now, once you've done that, open your eyes once more.
As you do so, hear my voice and picture my face.
Most importantly, recall my sincerity.
As you know, I say what I mean and mean what I say.
Now you may begin.
This letter is long overdue. Nevertheless, I want to express my gratitude for you.
Your FaceTime video calls, which you've consistently blessed me with practically every day (often twice a day), have drastically and permanently changed my life. Yes, I know that sounds dramatic. But that is the truth.
Although we live thousands of miles apart and have never enjoyed the pleasure of uniting in person, our souls feel more closely intertwined than I can possibly explain. Even with the totality of the English dictionary and its collection of hundreds of thousands of words at my disposal, I don't know how to effectively describe the strong impression you've made on my heart.
However, I will say this. I don't think you quite realize the extent of the impact of the favors you've done for me recently. Each interaction with you has made every day of mine remarkably better. As I've previously mentioned to you, I very rarely cry. Still, even now, reflecting on that reality almost brings tears of joy to my eyes.
Right now you are my favorite person, the light of my life, the apple of my eye.
