A Poem for My Best Friend

It was an unexpected encounter

She joined my gaming live stream on TikTok

Now I am just so glad that I found her

Suppressed feelings in me she did unlock

Her approach toward me started very slow

Still every moment a special delight

I wasn't certain if we'd talk tomorrow

Now I see her on FaceTime every night

She has got a body like an hourglass

A personality none can surpass

A treasure I was blessed to discover

I doubt I will ever find another

I know she struggles with low self-esteem

She's about to fall from the balance beam

Can hear the deafening sound of her cries

I wish she could see herself through my eyes

What's within my chest she managed to steal

I'm not sure words can describe how I feel

She gave motion to a still and cold heart

Can't even imagine being apart

I told her I really don't want to fight

A warm spark inside me she did ignite

She's truly a beacon of shining light

Everything with her just feels so damn right

Now she is trying to push me away

She's saying it's really for my own good

But all I can think of is yesterday

I can't stay quiet like you think I should

We planned to meet in the summer somewhere

I don't know if she'll speak to me again

But she'll remain part of my daily prayer
