Widespread Xenophobia
The intelligence and maturity level of the average, modern-day American (including all demographics within the population) is honestly incredibly disappointing, not to mention disrespectful and ignorant. And it makes all us Americans appear inconsiderate and obnoxious. As a millennial (born in ‘97) and a citizen of the United States, I’m genuinely ashamed at times because of my association with large groups of exceedingly discriminatory, insensitive, and uneducated people. And on behalf of the knowledgeable and rational Americans born in this country, I am here to issue an apology to those who have been negatively impacted by prevailing sentiments and expressions endorsing the propagation of racism/xenophobia within the U.S.A. We (the reasonable individuals) neither support nor condone this form of close-minded behavior. And my hope is that more of us will begin to expose and emphatically condemn atrocious demonstrations of aforementioned behavior in subsequent years.
