An Open Mind 

Sometimes I can be a handful, I know.

We all carry baggage from long ago. 

As for relationships? I’m not a pro.

Yet we still have plenty of room to grow. 

I admit, I have been through quite a lot. 

That’s why you’ll often find me deep in thought.

For us many lessons the past has taught. 

Thus, would it make sense if we just forgot?

And as for mistakes? I’ve made my fair share. 

I’m sorry some of them give you a scare. 

I might be broken, in need of repair. 

But I wouldn’t confess so if I didn’t care. 

These days authentic bonds are hard to find.

So I suggest something you’ll get behind. 

We ought not travel this unknown path blind. 

My sole wish is you’ll keep an open mind.
